Toyota has officially unveiled its first-ever all-electric pickup truck, the Toyota Hilux EV, marking a revolutionary shift in the commercial vehicle segment. Set for a global market rollout from December 2025, this battery-electric variant combines the legendary durability of the Hilux with zero-emission technology. Featuring dual electric motors, permanent all-wheel drive, and a 59.2 kWh battery pack, the Hilux EV promises to transform the Indian pickup truck market when it arrives in 2027.
Toyota Hilux EV Design

The Toyota Hilux EV showcases a bold design transformation with slim LED headlight units connected by a central bar displaying the TOYOTA name in classic lettering. The front features an aerodynamic closed-off grille with geometric patterns, replacing the traditional diesel grille while maintaining the truck’s commanding presence. Dedicated alloy wheels, sharp character lines along the muscular body, and a redesigned rear deck step complete the modern look that distinguishes it from conventional variants.
Toyota Hilux EV Interior & Comfort
The cabin delivers a premium experience with a horizontal centre console design incorporating dual 12.3-inch screens for the driver’s display and multimedia touchscreen. Taking inspiration from the Land Cruiser, the all-black interior features quality materials and centrally grouped AWD controls for easy operation. The BEV model adopts a shift-by-wire drive selector, while enhanced insulation from the electric powertrain ensures a quieter ride with generous space for five occupants and modern conveniences like wireless charging.
